Jessie  James Adams was born to Ethel Lean Johnson and Ed Adams in Jonestown,  Mississippi.

Jessie lived his young life in Mississippi  until graduating from Aggie High School in 1977. On October 18, 1977, Jessie joined the Army. While serving his country he was stationed and traveled many places in the world. Jessie substained an injury while practicing for his jump. True to the heart of this lion, he over came it. He went on to preform many other duties. He took nursing courses and earned a Culinary arts Certification.
On May 27,1983, Sgt. Jessie J. Adams was honorable discharged from the U.S. Army. He moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to began a life as a civilian. He worked in food service and always stopped by his parents home to aid and assist them. This was just his nature. So much so he joined the reserves. While doing these things he always made time for others. In 2013 his place of employment closed. They honored his dedication with a nice package that included awards. It didn’t  stop there, He continued to serve. He gave his time, his energy,  and most of all  his love to those less fortunate and fortunate.

He attended Mt. Olive Church in Ft. Wayne, IN. Though he was never married and have no biological children,  he developed a large extended family (most referring to him as Uncle Jessie). He continued to give hope, inspiration,  and love to the very end that will live on FOREVER.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Mother; Ethel Lean Johnson-Jackson & William Jackson, Father; Ed Adams, Sisters; Marthan Johnson and Annie B. Donaldson; Cousin/Bro. Nathaniel Johnson jr.
Jessie leaves to treasure precious memories his Sister; Rose L. Burton & Pete Burton, Brother; Israel Grayes & Dorothy Grayes, his Uncle and Aunts, a host of Nieces and Nephews, and Cousins. Special thanks to Nieces Jamie Phillips of Anderson,  IN and Andrea Ross of Ft. Wayne, IN and Nephews Brad Phillips of Anderson, IN and Mike McNeil of Ft. Wayne, IN and all other friends who were able to share a conversation, laugh, smile, or tear with him. May his light continue to  illuminate in our hearts and memories.
Thank you Heavenly Father for  allowing us to share time with Jessie. From you we come and to you we must return.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Jessie. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible’s promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.
